Looking for Local Artisans!

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

We are looking for local artists or individuals/groups with special talents who are interested in participating in a community meeting to discuss the possibility of Troy taking part in the 2° Northwest cultural tourism project. This project aims to increase tourism in small northwestern communities by creating, distributing, and promoting an artisan trail guidebook. The Troy Horizons Entrepreneur Group is focusing on this project as a way to improve the local economy. If you are interested in taking part in this meeting please contact Nancy Hampel at nancmh@yahoo.com, 835-3313 or Heidi Reierson at heiditenaya@hotmail.com, 835-4088 for more information.

Co-Leader, Nancy Hampel, nancmh@yahoo.com

The Entrepreneurship team will be exploring a variety of possibilities such as supporting existing business owners, encouraging entrepreneurial development, developing a small business investment club, and taking part in a cultural heritage tourism project. One other possibility that has been mentioned is the development of a community garden. We have identified a possible partner for this project, but we’d like to determine if there is enough community interest to move forward so we’d like to hear from you about this issue as well. Then next meeting for this group will be on Wednesday, November 14th from 6:30-7:30 pm at City Hall.
